Some of our Past Seed Funded Projects

Round Six

We would like to thank all of the organisations that applied for our round six seed funding.

The successful applicants:

Migrant Resource Centre Northern Tas Inc -  a) A ‘Reflective Space’ at the Wynyard Cemetery  and  b)  To assist people, originally from Afghanistan, and of the Islamic faith, to better prepare for when a person dies in Launceston, through understanding legislative requirements around human remains handling and burial, and, the practical limitations of the hospital, funeral homes and the council to accommodate Islamic rituals and customs; and to adequately resolve any limitations through exploring and negotiating possible alternatives. 

Ibis (No3) Pty Ltd Wynyard Care Centre (SYNOVUM) - This project aims contribute to the wellbeing and relationships of people living with dementia and their families through an art based activity that supports connection, memory preservation, quality time and active relationships. 

Tandara Lodge Community Care Inc - “When I’m dying, will you sing to me”, Music as Therapeutic resource in End-of-Life Care, kits and workshops.

Cancer Council Tasmania - Creative Expression/Art Therapy Workshop.

Inscape Tas Incorporated Association - Tribute an  art project at Royal Hobart Hospital, Acute Older Persons Unit. Tribute is a project that values and recognises stories of older people at the end of their life.  An arts health facilitator and a visual artist will listen to and document stories told by individuals who are admitted to the Acute Older Persons Unit (AOPU) at the Royal Hobart Hospital. 

Khachodling Incorporated -  Developing a resource to provide cultural support for dying & bereavement.

Mature Artists Dance Experience Inc (MADE) - To develop a program that provides a supportive environment, group peer sharing and resources to assist close family and carers of people with dementia to understand, and to have support for their loss and grief during the dementia trajectory.
